Abu Dhabi International Hunting And Equestrian Exhibition 2010 Opens Tomorrow

Set to be largest event of its kind showcasing culture, technology and deep-rooted traditions. ADIHEX 2010 to host first ever World Arabian Horse Conference as part of Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival.

Continuing its history of bringing alive deep-rooted Emirati tradition, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2010 (ADIHEX 2010) opens tomorrow in the capital. The opening of the four day cultural extravaganza was announced today by Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Event Director of ADIHEX and Director of Communications at ADACH.

The announcement took place in a press conference organized by (ADACH) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) where the exhibition will run until September 25. Also attending the conference were event partners and sponsors including Lara Sawaya, Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival; Declan Hegarty, Managing Director and Head of Business – Abu Dhabi, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited; Stephen Bowey, Director of Communications, Invest AD; and Talal Al Hashemi from Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

“ADIHEX 2010 will be largest event of its kind bringing together culture, technology and deep-rooted traditions on the same platform,” said Al Qubaisi, speaking on behalf of Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouie, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Board Member of the Emirates Falconers Club, and Director General of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage. “At EFC and ADACH, it is our shared commitment to take the Emirati culture and tradition to the world and we are pleased to witness ADIHEX evolved into a flagship event not just for the UAE but for the entire Middle East region and beyond.

“The value and importance associated with ADIHEX is reflected in that the exhibition space was sold out well ahead of the event. Our sustained expansion in this regard is concomitant with the rising demand we have been witnessing from both regional and international exhibitors, who find ADIHEX the ideal destination to showcase their wares while celebrating the deep rooted traditions of the UAE,” added Al Qubaisi.

As a unique attraction, the Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival will be held alongside ADIHEX 2010. Since the last edition of this prestigious event, the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival under the instructions of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has been associated with ADIHEX 2010.

This year, for the first time the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival will be organizing the World Arabian Racing Conference, adding a new dimension to ADIHEX. The conference is being held with a special focus on Arabian horse racing, bringing together hundreds of experts, researchers and others involved with Purebred Arabian horse racing from over 20 countries from around the world.

“With some of the biggest names in the Arabian racing fraternity participating in the Conference, these officials will carry home the experience and flavor of ADIHEX,” said Sawaya. “As we have already seen, the equestrian section of ADIHEX has been successful in bringing together some of the biggest and most famous racing centers and venues to participate here.

“The Sheikh Mansoor Festival’s Zayed Cup racing in Europe and America has gone a long way in promoting ADIHEX and we are all confident that the exhibition will be a great success this year. I would like to acknowledge the contribution of ADIHEX officials, who coordinated with us to ensure that the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the heritage and culture of the UAE is carried far and wide,” Sawaya said.

ADIHEX will open to the public on the first day at 5pm, while for the remaining three days visitors timings will be from 11am to 10pm. The Global Arabian Horse Racing Conference will be broadcast live from Abu Dhabi Sports TV.

ADIHEX 2010 is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s representative in Al Gharbia (the Western Region) of Abu Dhabi, the Chairman of the Emirates Falconers Club (EFC), with support from ADACH and the Organization of the Emirates Falconers Club. The event is expected to receive over 100,000 visitors across all age groups and nationalities.

The event is co-sponsored by leading corporate organizations including Abu-Dhabi Sports Council, Invest AD, HSBC, Bonyan, Wathba Stud Farm and Areej Al Ameerat.
