Abu Dhabi Wildlife Photography Exhibition Celebrates The Best Of UAE Wildlife At ADIHEX 2010











Visitors to this year’s Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) will get the opportunity to view stunning images of the best of Abu Dhabi’s wildlife. The landmark travelling “Abu Dhabi Wildlife Photography Exhibition” coincides with ADIHEX, which will be held from September 22– 25, 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The photography exhibition is being organized by the Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi (EAD), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), Wildscreen International and ARKive to celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity 2010.

The exhibition, which includes 100 images of the types of marine fauna and flora and wildlife living in the UAE, has already toured Al Gharbia, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi city. The collection includes images of endangered species which aim to increase awareness among the general public and remind them of the importance of protecting their habitats.

To attract the youth, the exhibition will feature an Entertainment Zone on biodiversity which will include educational, yet entertaining, games for visiting school students. In addition, the environmental children characters of Shaheen’s World (Shaheen and Noora) will also be making an appearance throughout the ADIHEX.

The Abu Dhabi Wildlife Photography exhibition is located at stand H9 – 30, and will be open daily between 22nd – 25th September, 2010 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Photos displayed in this exhibition are a portrayal of the UAE’s diverse natural. For those who can not make it to ADIHEX, the photos can be found online at www.arkive.org and www.ead.ae

In 2008, EAD signed an international partnership agreement with Wildscreen and became a principle sponsor of their ARKive project. Wildscreen is a conservation charity that has collected one of the world’s largest international wildlife photographic databases. EAD supports this charity to help raise public awareness about Abu Dhabi’s threatened biodiversity.
