Etihad To Attend Arab Air Carriers Annual Meeting In Cairo

The Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, James Hogan, and a senior delegation from the airline including Khaled Al Mehairbi, Senior Vice President Government and Aeropolitical Affairs and Hasan Al Hammadi, Senior Vice President Chief Executive Affairs and Corporate Security, will attend and participate in the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO).

The AGM, which takes place between 19 and 22 October in Cairo, enables senior officials from each of the 23 member airlines to discuss strategies and develop plans for the coming year. The AGM will be presided over by AACO Secretary General, Abdul Wahab Teffaha.

James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, said: “The Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation is an important opportunity for senior airline representatives to debate the challenges and opportunities that affect the aviation industry in the Middle East.

“As the world’s fastest growing airline, now serving 17 destinations in the Middle East and 66 destinations globally, Etihad will play a central role in these discussions.”

The Arab Air Carriers Organisation is a regional airline alliance of Arab airlines established in 1965 by the League of Arab States. The organisation’s goal is to promote cooperation, quality and safety standards among Arab airlines.

Other attendees to the AACO AGM will include representatives from aircraft and engine manufacturers, aviation consultants, fuel suppliers, leasing companies and ground handling services providers.
