Saadiyat Island To Launch Exclusive Beach Club

Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of major cultural, residential and tourism destinations in Abu Dhabi, today announced it is building an exclusive beach club on Saadiyat Island to be open in late 2010.

Saadiyat Beach Club is the latest addition to Saadiyat Island’s line-up of tourism destinations anticipated by residents and leisure travellers from around the world. Located on the north-eastern side of Saadiyat Beach, the club will offer a retreat where Island residents, members and guests can exercise, socialise and relax, enjoying quality sports and leisure facilities in addition to spectacular sea views.

Lee Tabler, TDIC’s Chief Executive Officer commented: ‘Premium club facilities are in high demand in Abu Dhabi, and this exclusive beach club will complement the Island’s varied hotel and resort developments, offering state of the art hospitality facilities in a welcoming non-hotel environment.’

The club is designed for families and individuals looking to enjoy sports and recreational facilities including two swimming pools, a spa, beach access, tennis courts, plus top of the range gyms and fitness areas, with specific play areas available for children. In the evenings, a carefully selected range of exclusive lounges and restaurants will ensure the Saadiyat Beach Club becomes a must-visit social hub for the first Island residents and visitors to Saadiyat.

Tabler added: ‘TDIC is in negotiation with a world class hospitality operator to manage this unique opening on Saadiyat Island, and we plan to announce this partner by the end of May.’

Located between two luxury resorts and surrounded by premium villas and apartments, the club with a total plot area of 38,725 square metres is designed by the LW Design Group. Their experienced architects, interior designers and engineers have developed a design with contemporary interplay of forms that responds to the human scale and harmonizes with the interior design to provide seamless indoor and outdoor experiences.

The club will be one of the major attractions of Saadiyat Beach, a holiday destination with its 9 five-star resorts from world class hospitality operators of which several will be opened by 2011. These chains include St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Park Hyatt Hotel Resort and Spa, Shangri-La Resort, Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences and Saadiyat Rotana Hotel and Resort.

In addition to a marina and Gary Player’s signature beach golf course, the Saadiyat Beach District will also offer exclusive residential option, with premium villas and apartments opening from 2011 for those wishing to be some of the first to reside in this safe, exclusive and family oriented island community.
