SEHA To Host Second Annual Research Conference


’Horizons for Clinical Research in the UAE’ to be held in Abu Dhabi 12-13 December 2010










Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA) today announced that its second annual conference dedicated to improving standards of healthcare in the emirate will be held on December 12-13 at the Fairmont Hotel, Abu Dhabi. Under the theme ‘Horizons for Clinical Research in the United Arab Emirates’, the conference will serve as a unique platform for academic debate to further local medical care in the UAE’s growing healthcare sector.

SEHA is responsible for all the curative activities of public hospitals and clinics in Abu Dhabi. It owns and operates 12 hospitals, 62 clinics and 2 blood banks in the Emirate and employs more than 17,000 healthcare professionals.

Open to all healthcare professionals, the SEHA Research Conference will give attendees the opportunity to attend abstract presentations, workshops and group discussions on a variety of topics designed to further clinical research in the UAE, particularly in cancer drug development and therapy, but also on the most frequent causes of mortality in the UAE.

Key speakers scheduled to address participants of the conference include many high-profile international names from Europe, USA and India, reflecting SEHA’s commitment to a world-class service and its objective to remain at the forefront of modern medical advances. Dr. Samir Khleif, Chief, Cancer Vaccine Section at the National Cancer Institute, Maryland, USA; Dr. Jérôme Galon, Research Director at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in Paris, France as well as leading local Doctors; Dr. Satish Chandra, Specialist and Head of Clinical Research and Dr. Steve Matrelli, COO of Tawam Hospital, Al Ain will be present.
