UAE-based publisher GVP Media FZ LLC, a division of Global Village Partnerships Ltd. the creators of the best of annual book series, is to host an Emirati fusion dinner for the launch of ’CleanUAE’, the region’s first carbon neutral book.

This is a new annual publication highlighting corporate best practices in the UAE. A regional first, the entire carbon footprint for the book will be offset by carbon credits purchased by GVP Media FZ LLC.

The launch event, to be held at Dubai’s five-star contemporary Arabian property, Desert Palm Resort on 3 February 2011, features international and local VIP guests who will discuss how their organisations are making a difference by upholding sustainability as a critical driver of their business success.

The keynote speaker of this event is Cynthia McKinney, a former US Presidential candidate in the 2008 U.S. Presidential elections and US congresswoman who is best known for her human rights work and peace activism. Apart from giving a voice to the voiceless, she’s a committed environmentalist who means what she says and says what she means. With her opinions and actions, McKinney has inspired both admiration and controversy.

Mckinney said, "Mother Nature won’t wait. Either we step up to the plate and do what is necessary or mankind loses. Earth will survive with or without us."

Lisa Durante, Managing Group Editor of GVP Media FZ LLC said, "The urgency and momentum for promoting a genuine message of sustainability in the UAE is gathering speed. Our forthcoming book ’CleanUAE’, aims to create a regional platform for debate and action in the field of environmental, social and corporate governance. The countdown for the nation’s first carbon neutral publication is underway."

"Our GVP model is based on creating viable publishing concepts in the UAE and then rolling them out to diverse territories worldwide. Our first edition of ’CleanUAE’ will be replicated regionally as a ’CleanBahrain’ and ’CleanSaudiarabia’ in 2011. Through our efforts and those of our partners, the authentic meaning of ’building a knowledge economy’, takes shape," Lisa added.
