Tickets Selling Fast For Arab World Premiere Of UNESCO World Orchestra For Peace In Abu Dhabi











Tickets are selling fast for the UNESCO Artists for Peace, World Orchestra for Peace concert to be held on 4th January 2011 at the Emirates Palace, according to the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) the organizers of the Abu Dhabi Festival. Classical music lovers across the Emirates are being encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the Orchestra‟s first performance in the Arab World. The Orchestra is comprised of the world‟s top musicians from 62 world-renowned international orchestras.

Reaffirming its long-term commitment to cultural and musical education in the community, ADMAF, organizers of the Abu Dhabi Festival is proud to announce that a limited number of student tickets will be available free of charge for the performance.

This generous commitment builds on the Abu Dhabi Festival‟s thriving community and education program that aims to inspire young people and children to develop society through cultural experiences.

Maestro Valery Gergiev, the world acclaimed conductor of the World Orchestra for Peace expressed his enthusiasm for the performance ahead: “I am delighted to be coming to Abu Dhabi with the unique World Orchestra for Peace, on the occasion of our first performance in the Arab World and at the invitation of the Abu Dhabi Festival. We want this New Year’s concert to be a true celebration of the power of music to overcome boundaries that divide nations and to unite us with our audience in mutual appreciation, understanding and harmony.”

The World Orchestra for Peace, the brain-child of the late Sir Georg Solti, the renowned conductor, will play a program of orchestral classics including Rossini‟s William Tell Overture and Prokofiev‟s Symphony No. 1, ensuring that everyone, even those encountering classical music for the first time, will enjoy the performance as much as those who are already familiar with the experience.

Abu Dhabi Festival, organized by Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation is proud to host this celebration of music, reaffirming Abu Dhabi‟s position as a capital of culture and the arts and the vision for the future of the capital of the UAE as a cultural and artistic hub. In 2011, the Abu Dhabi Festival will celebrate the theme „Harmony for Humanity‟, recognizing the ability of music and the arts to transcend barriers and bring people together as one. The World Orchestra for Peace, bringing together the world‟s best musicians from around the world, will bring the theme to life in Abu Dhabi, a place of, enlightenment, tolerance and mutual respect, where people from all over the world live and work side-by-side in peace, thanks to the values of understanding and respect bequeathed by the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on his soul.
