The National Transport Authority Of UAE Approves 2011-2013 Strategy











The National Transport Authority (NTA) approved its 2011-2013 strategy at a meeting last week presided over by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of NTA.

Director General Dr. Nasser Saif Al Mansouri said that the plan is derived from the principal directions of the Federal Government for the second session of its strategic plan, which was implemented to the" Vision of the United Arab Emirates 2021" which have been launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Chairman of the Board Minister and Ruler of Dubai at the beginning of this year.

NTA’s plan developed four strategic goals with the first being "raise the efficiency of land transport and ensure its sustainability through the development of legislation, federal and in accordance with the practices global infrastructure, secure and integrated strengthen the role of the transport sector in the UAE at the regional level and internationally. The second goal is the establishment of legislative and regulatory system for rail transport with the UAE and according to best practices. The Third goal is raising the efficiency of maritime transport and ensure its sustainability through the development of legislation, federal and in accordance with the practices global infrastructure, secure and integrated strengthen the role of the transport sector the country at the regional level and international. The fourth goal is to consolidate the culture of excellence and high quality services and implement effective ways for human resources management, financial and technical best practices.

Al Mansouri noted that the strategy aims to achieve the new vision for the authority of the "Secure and integrated transport for sustainable growth", where it was addition of the word "secure" to the vision to focus on security of society in line with the UAE Vision 2021.

NTA’s new mission statement is "to contribute in the development of secure, integrated of the Land and marine Transport enhance its standing as the logistics and compete economically and Cognitively to achieve the highest levels of quality and international standards in transport services through the provision of sustainable infrastructure and the adoption of necessary legislations.
