Abu Dhabi University Celebrates 5 Years’ Worth Of Academic Achievers ADU Board Of Trustees Meet In Celebration











Marking the end of yet another successful academic journey, Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) Board of Trustees gathered at Abu Dhabi University to celebrate five years of academic achievement in the aftermath of ADU’s graduation ceremony for the 436-strong batch of 2006, held on 11th January.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, and Vice-Chairman of ADU’s Board of Trustees headed the meeting, discussing a number of academic subjects and related administrative tasks performed by the university during the past year, including start-ups of a host of new programs that cater to the needs of the labor market in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

The meeting was attended by all members of the Board of Trustees, including HE Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State; HE Ahmed Mohammed Al Humairi Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; HE Major General Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, General Secretary of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister; HE Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman ALDAR Properties; HE Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of Sorouh; HE Zafer Shami Ahbabi, and Qusay; HE Mohammed Al-Ghussein Group Director Ben Hermel, Ali Saeed Bin Harmal, Virtual Head of the Executive Council of the University; and Professor Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor.

Sheikh Nahyan expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of ADU’s Board of Trustees, in all of ADU’s endeavours. He further discussed ADU’s Annual Report and its Strategic Plan and the ADU Fund Report, and congratulated the ADU family on yet another year of progress.

Ali Saeed Bin Harmal concluded the meeting with an inspiring presentation illustrating the university’s steady development, and the growing numbers of ADU graduates since its establishment. The presentation aptly demonstrated how the institution caters to the needs of the labor market, as well as contributes to sustained development for both, the capital city and the nation.

Bin Harmal briefly touched upon the projects and programs that were implemented during the past period and those that will be implemented during the current academic year and the strategy associated with the development of the university.
