Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA) has announced that it has won ‘Excellence in Hospital Emergency Department Award’ at Arab Health Innovation and Achievement Awards 2011, held last night at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. (SEHA) was recognized for its exceptional improvements to Emergency Medical Services in Abu Dhabi, coming ahead of 2 other worthy contenders shortlisted in the same category.

SEHA’s Tawam Hospital was also part of the ceremony, and won the ‘Excellence in Laboratory Services Award’ in recognition of its contribution to advances in medical laboratory advancement in the region.

SEHA Chairman H.E. Saif Bader Al Qubaisi lauded his teams’ achievements, noting, “We are happy to have been part of the awards, and absolutely delighted to have received recognition at an established international platform like the Arab Health Innovation and Achievement Awards. It was an honour to be picked over other strong contenders adding genuine value to healthcare provision in the Middle East.”

“These awards are not just SEHA’s, but belong equally to all our public and private partners who have worked with us to implement our vision of excellence in patient-centric healthcare provision. The awards are a testament to the commitment and excellence shown by all SEHA’s employees in discharging their duties with professionalism and compassion,” he added.

The award winners were announced at a Gala Dinner attended by over 700 of the region’s leading healthcare professionals, senior government officials and VIP industry guests. The ceremony was one of the key events at the Arab Health Congress, the second largest healthcare exhibition in the world, which has been running throughout the week at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Carl Stanifer, CEO of SEHA, said, “I would like to congratulate the SEHA team on a strong performance at the Arab Health Innovation and Achievement Awards. The ceremony offered further evidence that our vision to develop an excellent integrated healthcare system competitive with the best in the world is not just achievable, but slowly coming to fruition. I would also like to congratulate the organizers of the Arab Health Congress awards ceremony, because these awards have inspired tremendous improvements in the industry. The real winners are the patients served by these healthcare institutions.”

SEHA reports seeing some 5 million patients annually, in which the company operates a total of 12 hospitals, 62 ambulatory and primary healthcare clinics, and two blood banks in the emirate.
