The stand of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) on the second day of the 5th Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE), attracted a large number of visitors who were interested in DEWA’s projects and initiatives, especially in clean, renewable energy and smart services, and took part in many activities.
HE Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) visited DEWA’s stand at DIGAE. He was briefed on DEWA’s key projects, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hassyan clean coal power plant, and DEWA’s smart initiatives. These include Shams Dubai, which encourages building owners to install photovoltaic solar systems to generate electricity from solar power and connect them to DEWA’s grid, smart applications through meters and grids, and the Green Charger to build the infrastructure and electric-vehicle charging stations. He also viewed a model of DEWA’s 3D printing lab which is being constructed at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Al Qatami also viewed key projects of the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, which are implemented in cooperation with DEWA.
“At DEWA, we are guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who instructed Dubai government organisations to implement today, what cities around the world will implement after 10 years. DEWA’s participation in the fifth Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition is aligned with the exhibition’s three themes of happiness, innovation, and shaping the future. At DEWA, we work to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 to provide 75% of Dubai's total power output from clean energy sources by 2050, and the Smart Dubai initiative to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. Our participation in DIGAE also supports our commitment to exchanging expertise and best practices in all aspects of government work, as well as informing the public about DEWA’s initiatives and projects, especially in clean and renewable energy and smart services,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
Al Tayer commended the efforts of the Dubai Government Excellence Program under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai in organising DIGAE, noting that it has become a platform to promote government excellence. It provides government organisations with the opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices in service provision, and highlights the efforts of Dubai Government to ensure a happier and more prosperous life for everyone living in Dubai. DIGAE also provides a platform for a dialogue between the government and citizens and residents, while innovating ways to make them happier.
At DIGAE, which runs until Tuesday, 4 April 2017, DEWA’s stand (DIGAE-B-4) in hall number 8 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, provides an interactive platform for visitors at the ‘Knowledge Corner.’ Visitors can take part in seminars, lectures, and workshops by specialists, experts, and media figures on various topics. The second day featured an Open Meeting with Customers, where Abdullah Al Hajri, Executive Vice President of Customer Happiness at DEWA, answered customers’ enquiries and questions.
“Such meetings with customers are part of DEWA’s strategy to ensure providing the best services to our customers, according to the highest international practices to make them happier. Such meetings among the main inputs that we use to develop our services to fulfil customers’ needs and exceed their expectations. This supports DEWA’s efforts to achieve the happiness of its customers and society as a whole,” said Al Hajri.
