DEWA officials and employees renew their pledge to the UAE and affirm their support to the wise leadership on Flag Day DEWA shared all institutions, ministries, schools and government organisations in the UAE by raising the flag at 11am. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, raised the UAE flag in DEWA’s head office. A large number of customers from UAE citizens and residents also took part in the National event. DEWA handed out UAE flags to employees and customers. A number of heritage activities were organised to promote the National identity and enhance loyalty and belonging to the UAE. “Observing Flag Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the presidency of the UAE, embodies the meanings of unity and solidarity in the UAE, the country that we are proud to belong to. This special occasion, on which we raise the UAE’s flag high, promotes the love, loyalty, and belonging to the UAE. It’s an occasion when the people of the UAE show their support for the wise leadership. Celebrating this important National occasion annually, emphasises the unity and solidarity of the UAE people under the flag of the Union, which is a symbol of pride. We are ready to sacrifice everything so that the flag flutters aloft, proving to the world that we stand united behind our wise leadership to take the UAE to the forefront,” said Al Tayer. “On this occasion that is dear to our hearts, we congratulate His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. We reiterate our loyalty to the UAE’s flag and renew our pledge to keep it high by continuing hard, dedicated, and sincere work to achieve the prosperity of our homeland. We pray to Allah Almighty that prosperity and dignity continue forever for our beloved country,” he added. “On this day, we emphasise that DEWA will continue its efforts to promote the National Identity and the values of loyalty and belonging, to protect the achievements of a history full of loyalty, giving, honesty, and prosperity under the flag of the Union. We make sure that all the activities we organise to mark this day, embody the principles of belonging to the UAE, which we all work for its prosperity and protection,” concluded Al Tayer. DEWA’s celebrations on Flag Day included cultural and heritage activities in its buildings. These include ‘Draw a Painting from UAE Heritage’ and the popular Dokkan traditional shop, which continues for the whole month of November.
