Dubai Land Department have announced that the expansion of Dubai’s new state-of-the-art Building Classification System (BCS), launched in June 2015, has already achieved extensive success, through the completion of the Deira district survey and with great headway made in Bur Dubai.
Senior Director of DLD Technical Affairs Department, Mohamad Khodr Al-Dah, said: “We employ the most up-to-date technology and techniques in the field of maps and spaces data, in order to continuously develop and improve the department’s e-systems. These ongoing improvements help us to provide quality services, meet the various needs of our customers quickly and easily, and provide accurate data on residential units and land plots all across Dubai.”
The DLD’s state-of-the-art Building Classification System (BCS) has so far surveyed 55601 plots of land out of 139306, which represents around 40% of tasks allocated, extending across more than 173850 apartments and 18277 villas in Deira. This was all carried out by employing a bespoke smart online system, built in-house for the BCS project.
DLD’s main goals for BCS are to increase the real estate data accuracy and classify properties, and recommend an accordant increase in rent depending on the quality of the building, as well as facilitate the application of Ejari System and speed the process of real estate evaluation. The project also contributes to simplify the disputes between the parties and the reduction of real estate data manipulation for the purpose of issuing business licenses.
Among the goals for the department to be achieved from behind the survey is to increase the real estate data accuracy and identify high quality than other real estate and reverse the increase in the permitted rent depending on the quality of the building, and
DLD participated at GISWORX 16, the largest and the most significant GIS (geographic information systems) user gathering in the region, in April this year. Here it first showcased its state-of-the-art Building Classification System to a group of senior UAE experts and specialists within this field.
