Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in this year’s edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2016), which opened today, and will run until 20 October 2016 at Sheikh Saeed Hall, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. DEWA’s stand number is S2-D1, which is part of the Dubai Smart Government’s pavilion. DEWA is set to showcase its latest technical achievements, and the quantum leap in its smart and innovative services and initiatives to make a happy Dubai.
“DEWA’s participation in GITEX 2016 will introduce customers to its new smart services, and initiatives aimed at achieving their happiness. This supports the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world, and the Dubai Plan 2021, to make Dubai a smart, integrated, and connected city with a proactive government which is creative and capable of meeting the needs of individuals, and society as a whole,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“We strive to foster the leading position of Dubai on an international level, through the ongoing development of smart services and applications. We are committed to making Dubai unique among all other smart cities, by using advanced methodologies, deploying effective systems and adopting the best solutions, in line with our vision to be a sustainable innovative world-class utility. DEWA has launched its smart services campaign, to increase its customers’ use of its smart initiatives, and encourage them to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle,” added Al Tayer.
DEWA adopts a clear approach based on innovation and predicting the future, as two major pillars to improve its services. DEWA also keeps up to date with all government initiatives, and works to achieve the happiness of the whole community. DEWA understands the importance of adopting advanced solutions, and the latest updates in the international technology field, to deal with rapid development. DEWA works to enhance partnerships with international organisations, making life in Dubai effective, smooth, and efficient.
At GITEX 2016, DEWA will show a number of smart services and initiatives, including the Hololense-3D reality technique, in collaboration with Microsoft. DEWA is the first government organisation in the world to adopt this technique. Hololense works as an independent computer, which includes drawing and 3D display processors, and sensors to enable 3D vision and graphics.
DEWA will also be demonstrating its Future Service Centre module, which encourages customers to participate in the development of DEWA’s smart services. On display are also DEWA’s smart applications which are compatible with Apple TV, Samsung’s Smart TV, and others. DEWA will also highlight the Internet of Things and systems that facilitate its Smart App.
In order to enhance communication with GITEX’s visitors, and encourage them to use DEWA’s smart services, DEWA is giving away 15 prizes every day, through a daily raffle. Visitors need to register through DEWA’s app, or complete any smart transaction on the app. Stand visitors can also win prizes, if they bring the specially created smart watch band sticker insert from Al Bayan or Khaleej Times and have it scanned at DEWA’s stand.
DEWA will also award 10 lucky winners of the grand prize raffle draw, and will give away 30 prizes as part of the daily raffle draw, in addition to a number of other valuable prizes.
