The upgraded website which keeps pace with the technological changes in the world of websites supports browsing through all smart devices including Apple iPhone, iPod and iPads. It is more user friendly, and offers value-added services and much faster browsing to Dubai and the region’s business community as all the content can be shared on social media networks by the click of a button.
It contains the text to speech plugin known as ReadSpeaker in Arabic and English for people with vision impairment as it can read the entire website content to the user in English and in Arabic and also has the text enlargement feature for the visually impaired.
H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, stated that in today’s fast-paced business scenario the business community is looking for information sources that are easy and quick to access. Therefore, the renovation of the Chamber’s website emphasised on rich content, is easy to navigate and packed with regular updates as it caters to the Government’s directives of providing smart and innovative services to enhance the performance and competitiveness of the business community.
The President and CEO of Dubai Chamber further stressed that the Chamber serves over 190,000 companies registered as members while offering strategic economic information to all types of international companies considering setting up a base in the emirate by offering relevant information of economic interests as part of the Chamber’s strategic goals of supporting development of business and creating a favourable business environment.
Said H.E. Buamim: “The number of visitors to our website increased by 44% during the period 2011-2015 as their numbers jumped from 671,000 in 2011 to 976,000 by the end of 2015. We expect the number of visitors to our new website to rise to 1 million by the end of this year, especially in light of the larger viewership supported by modern devices of communication.”
He reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to provide all the relevant information needed by the business community as he said that the website is one of the most effective tools used by the organisation to assist the business community while promoting Dubai as an international destination for trade and finance.
The website is more user friendly, reliable and enabled for all devices as it provides special features to registered users to login to their personal dashboard where they can choose to register for any upcoming events, obtain data related research, access to e-Library and get their certificate verifications done from just any smart device.
The new website also offers a range of electronic services including registration of new membership and modification of existing membership, registration and amendments to the certificates of origin, verification of signatures as well as browsing of the Dubai Commercial Directory. It also offers the e-payment service for those wanting to participate in the Chamber events and access to seminars and training workshops and facility to browse the e-library.
Browsers can also check the events calendar or subscribe to keep themselves informed of all industry related events with easy access to economic research and studies with a single click.
The website also hosts the Chamber TV, which is a first-of-its-kind Online Video Channel in the Gulf region, that showcases Chamber-related news and business events besides showcasing the activities of the organisation.
