Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today launched ‘The UAE Center for Government Knowledge’, a new division of the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government aimed at helping enhance government excellence and sharing expertise as well as facilitating exchange of knowledge between various government entities in the UAE and the Arab region.
His Highness said that the launch of the Center reflects the example set by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in providing assistance and help to other countries and institutions in the region. President of the UAE His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan also followed the same path which has helped the UAE cement its position in the region as a center of excellence and achieve top global ranking in various areas including the government sector.
Sheikh Hamdan said that the constant follow up and the support of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the development of government entities is clearly reflected in the high quality of services delivered by the government sector. In terms of quality, the government services provided by the UAE surpass those provided by other governments across the world. The UAE experience has become a global benchmark due to the consistent quality of its projects that has helped it maintain leadership in global rankings and indicators.
“We are happy to launch this Center which we hope will further support government work locally and regionally, and boost cooperation between various countries in the region to promote effectiveness of the government sector through the exchange of success stories. The Center reflects the approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in sharing the knowledge gained from its successes with others in the same way that it has benefited from the success stories of others,” His Highness said.
The event was attended by Minister for Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government Hamid Mohammed Al Qatami, Members of the Board of Trustees, Executive President of the School Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri and a number of prominent academic and administrative officials.
The Center serves as a comprehensive platform for best practices in the field of government and features a web portal that will help spread the culture of knowledge. The Center will also work on enhancing knowledge discussions and exchange of ideas for scientific documentation of government experiences and improve curriculums through consultancy services and training sessions for individuals.
