Dubai Customs Launches "Health Endowment" Initiative across Dubai airports

Dubai Customs Director, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, yesterday (Tuesday 17th of May) opened “Health Endowment” initiative at Al Maktoum International Airport – Passengers Terminal, which runs across Dubai Airport terminals and Al Maktoum International Airport for six days, until the 25th of this month.

This undertaking comes in line with the recent launch by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of the largest global social initiative for endowments, the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC).
It also meets the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council,  for the government entities in Dubai to adopt the ‘Dubai Endowment Sign”, launched earlier by Sheikh Mohammed, as a criterion for differentiation between bidders on government contracts.

Dubai Customs Director toured the event site accompanied by Dubai Customs seniors and strategic partners at the Airport.  He affirmed that the “Health Endowment” initiative is part of Dubai Customs’ sustained efforts to boost community service through innovative endowments.

Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej, Dubai Customs Passenger Operations Department Director, said the “Health Endowment” event is held in collaboration with a bundle of leading health-care providers including, hospitals, major clinics, pharmacies and many other contributors,  coming together to offer  free consultations to passengers, Customs employees and airport workers.

He also highlighted that this event is meant to encourage participants to donate for charity in the healthcare sector, while also initiating endowments of medical equipment and/or medical wards, either fully or partially in support of this noble cause.

The initiative  also  seeks to coordinate with various health authorities to raise awareness on the importance of endowment and the ‘Dubai Endowment Sign’.

“This first of its kind initiative on the Customs authorities level nation-wide is a direct contribution to Dubai Customs’ effective CSR endeavours and reflects upon the Authority’s commitment towards the wellbeing of the society and our own employees,” explained Bin Lahej.

The ‘Health Endowment’ activities will take place at all arrivals terminals across Dubai airports from 10:00 am until 17:00 pm. It will be held at DXB Terminals 2 and  3 on the 19th and on 22-23 of May respectively, and at the Airport Terminal 1 on May 24-25 .

Dubai Customs invites everyone to contribute wholeheartedly to making this innovative initiative a success, for the common good of local community and Dubai visitors alike.
