Dubai Customs launches "Suggest a book" campaign to boost a learning organization

Dubai Customs is finely aligned with the wise call of HH President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in declaring this year as the year of reading. Consequently, Dubai Customs launched a series of activities and initiatives  in pace with this astute endeavour including the recent “Suggest a Book” undertaking, aimed at encouraging reading as a fixed routine for all employees, ideas generation, and exchange of knowledge by suggesting a book and then summarizing it to a larger audience of employees. 

“This initiative is subsequent to “Read” initiative launched earlier last year with the sole aim of encouraging reading and exchange of information on books read,” Dr. Sheikha Al Ghafri, Acting Director of Customs Training Center said. 

“This current initiative is driven by the of knowledge cascading technique while maximising levels of know-how sharing amongst employees. It also contributes to the capacity building  spirit, increases productivity and provides a versatile ground for spreading positive energy among the DC community.” 

A bundle of selected high value books were introduced by the participating employees such as, “ My Vision”, “ The Art of War”, “Who Moved My Cheese” and a wide selection of motivation, strategy and life inspirational books.
