His Excellency Bin Byat reiterated the role of His Highness’s initiative in strengthening the impact and sustainability of corporate citizenship. He said: “This initiative provides companies with new channels for their humanitarian investment and the development of the societies in which they operate.”
He added: “His Highness’s initiative for endowment reflects positively on the national economy as it contributes to transforming the Emirate into a hub that will attract and develop billions of dirhams in endowments across a range of sectors.”
Dubai Holding’s businesses are present in 24 countries and play an active role in social and development initiatives in these countries. The benefits from the AED 50 million endowment announced today will lift the UAE into being able to include countries of its operations.
On 22nd March, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched the largest global initiative for endowments, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC).The Centre will provide free of charge consultation on Awqaf and endowments. His Highness also established an AED 5 billion endowment for knowledge, science and future research.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) has presented Dubai Holding the ‘Dubai Awqaf and Endowment Sign’. The Sign allows entities from the private and public sectors to serve the community through Awaqf and endowments dedicated to address development needs.
His Highness launched the first endowment consultancy to serve humanity through the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, to implement Dubai’s Awqaf and Endowment vision and strategy.
The Centre aims to achieve its global vision through stimulating and empowering Awqaf and endowments to meet the Arab World’s social needs. It provides free services to individuals as well as local, regional and international institutions in order to transform Awqaf and endowments into one of the most prominent incentives for development in the Arab World.
The Centre also looks to provide consultancy around the establishment and management of Awqaf and endowment institutions based on global best practices. Finally, the Centre focuses on Awqaf and endowment knowledge management through conducting and managing research, studies, conferences, workshops and establishing relevant partnerships.
