The Chairman Of UAE Central Bank Awarded An Honorary Degree In Doctorate Of Laws From The University Of Bath |

His Excellency Khalil Foulathi, Chairman of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates was bestowed an Honorary Doctorate of Laws (LLD) from The University of Bath in acknowledgement of the stellar public service work done by him throughout his career. Mr. Al Foulathi accepted the honor in a glittering Winter Graduation ceremony held at the University of Bath, which was attended by young graduates, faculty members, leading academicians and fellow Honorary Graduates from various walks of life. Professor Christos Ioannidis, Head of Department, professor of Economics and Finance said: “His Excellency Mr. Khalil Al Foulathi is one of the rare personalities who act as a bridge between the Modern and the Arab World. While remaining true to his country’s ideals he has managed to put the UAE as a key player in the global financial markets.” His Excellency Khalil Foulathi was the Managing Director and founding member of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank between 1996 and 1998 and the Chairman of the Establishment Committee of Al Hilal Bank in 2007. In his following roles as Executive Director of many departments at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and in his current role as Executive Director of Fixed Income & Treasury Department, he has made a significant difference to the way corporate investments were made in the region – setting investment policies, benchmarks and best practices. With his vision he made the industry more accountable and transparent while ensuring that the investments brought long term returns, sustainable growth and were socially responsible. His positive contribution to the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority led him to his present role as a Board Member at this key financial institution of UAE.
