Water-Smart Landscaping & Erasing Carbon Footprint To Debut At Abu Dhabi Event

“Landscaping projects in the region to multiply twofold to top AED 60 billion by 2010” - Patel

As concerns continue to grow about the effects of global warming on the environment, CMPi UAE, organizers of Gulf Landscaping scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 17th to 18th November 2008 announced that water smart landscaping technology and methods of offsetting carbon footprint will make their Middle East debut at the two-day event. “Commercial property owners in the region can feel secure about continuing to beautify their landscapes while protecting natural resources,” said Sam Patel, Sales Director CMPi UAE. Exhibitors at the event will showcase water-smart landscaping through sensible best practices and display methods to improve the health of the immediate environment and reduce carbon footprint. Spurred by the boom in the regional construction industry, landscaping projects in the region comprising commercial and residential landscaping design and maintenance are set to multiply twofold to top AED 60 billion by 2010. The Abu Dhabi event will provide landscaping ideas as well as products for erosion control, irrigation, landscape maintenance, water features, fertilizers, tips and facts on the latest landscaping trends for some fresh ideas, but also for landscaping professionals who are looking for some inspiration and outdoor design ideas. Landscaping in the GCC is a competitive business fraught with high competition, shrinking profits and high capital expense. “With the advent of international players, regional landscape designers and builders are realizing that there’s more to growth than sunshine, soil and water,” said John Wigham, Director of Cracknell - clear market leaders in the landscape architecture business. Mr. Wigham noted that the GCC is beginning to value the outdoors and landscaping professionals are now in big demand. “Driven by the construction boom, many households have increasingly turned to landscaping services to design, develop and maintain their investments while landscaping contractors are learning how to grab their share of this high growth market,” he said. Cracknell, one of the prominent exhibitors at Gulf Landscaping, will be emphasizing their core issues at the Abu Dhabi event including beauty, quality, authenticity, sustainability and social responsibility. “As an organization we are committed to making contributions to creating sustainable landscapes and improving public quality of life,” Mr. Wigham remarked. He noted that at Cracknell, commitment to the environment formed a core part their business mission. “We encourage our clients to utilize carbon neutral products as reducing our carbon footprint is a core strategy in our commitment to sustainability as a business,” Mr. Wigham stressed. Gulf Landscaping is an exhibition for the booming Middle East outdoor design and landscaping architecture industries. The event is designed to generate business leads for companies in the landscaping business. Alongside the exhibition CMPi UAE will also organize a one-day conference on sustainable construction as part of their support for the 2030 initiative - Estidama - designed to make Abu Dhabi the sustainability capital of the Middle East. The conference will cover the key subjects of sustainability, design & build, environmental issues, carbon footprints, urban planning, Abu Dhabi 2030 Initiative, water management and new product technologies. Gulf Landscaping will serve as a sourcing platform and networking event for the regions landscape architects, developers, contractors and other key buyers, to enable them to select products, services and solutions for the huge number of major developments in the commercial, retail, leisure and residential sectors, as well as city parks and highways. The event will be co-located with Working Buildings Middle East and Fit-Out Middle East to enable those involved in the development and delivery of this major growth industry to meet their landscaping and outdoor architecture needs in one visit.
