Tadweer To Host Pest World East 2019 On April 9, 10 In Abu Dhabi


Debut edition of specialized conference in UAE capital to examine ways of improving efficiency of pest control operations in the region










Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center (Tadweer) today announced that preparations are underway to host the PestWorld East 2019 conference in collaboration with the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and Ecovar Group, a leading provider of sustainable pest control solutions.

Set to convene for the first time in the UAE capital, the specialized event will run from April 9 to 10 at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi. The previous edition of the biennial gathering that seeks to address pest management challenges specific to the Middle East, Africa and South Asia took place in Dubai.

Eng Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Pest Control Projects Director at Tadweer, headlined a press conference at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi to announce the conference, that drew the participation of Hani Shehadeh, president, CEO of Ecovar Group, and several key officials from the two entities.

Set to attract leading pest control experts from the UAE and abroad, PestWorld East 2019 will facilitate the exchange of knowledge on a range of topics related to sustainable pest control, as well as networking with specialists from leading universities and research centers with the aim of improving the efficiency of pest control operations. Furthermore, the conference will explore new developments and present training opportunities.

Eng Al Marzouqi said: "PestWorld East 2019 will offer an ideal platform for introducing the latest pest control practices and promoting the use of safe and environment-friendly pest prevention methods in line with the UAE leadership's environmental sustainability vision. Tadweer will also use the platform to highlight its expertise in controlling the spread of public health pests through providing best-in-class services in this domain."

He added: "Hosting this conference aligns with our sustained efforts to maintain a healthy and pest-free environment in Abu Dhabi, and achieve the objectives of our integrated pest management strategy in collaboration with like-minded local and international organizations."

Eng Al Marzouqi expressed his confidence that PestWorld East 2019 will be a valuable addition to the emirate's growing portfolio of specialized events and offer an unprecedented opportunity for local pest control companies to take away key insights and develop their capabilities to offer services that comply with the highest standards.

For his part, Hani Shehadeh, president, CEO of Ecovar, said: "It's critical to be up to date on the latest techniques for rodent control, bed bugs, mosquito control and other pests that we deal with in this part of the world. Our goal as pest management professionals is to contribute to the overall quality of life, worldwide. Tadweer is the key government entity responsible for all activities related to the development of waste management services in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, including the collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of waste in a safe, efficient and economical manner. The center is also tasked with carrying out pest control, educating communities about the significance of protecting the environment, and encouraging them to adopt sound environmental habits to drive sustainable development.
