PCFC’s initiatives in DGAE applauded

The innovative projects and smart products Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) showcased so far in the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE) was largely applauded by government leaders and decision makers. 

DGAE is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai from 2nd to 4th April 2017 at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre under the theme: “National Governments, Global Achievements”. 

PCFC’s pavilion saw a recognizable footfall from directors of government departments who were eager to learn about PCFC’s latest innovations which aim at enhancing sustainability towards a knowledge based economy and a post-oil UAE following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. 

PCFC, the strategic partner of DGAE, runs its initiatives this year under the theme (We ensure a sustainable future). Its pavilion, which includes the projects of Dubai Customs, Dubai Maritime City Authority, Tarakhees- Department of Planning and Development, Dubai World Customs, received Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy chairman of Dubai Police, Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai, Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan. Attorney General - Dubai Emirate, and Dr. Ahmed Nusairat, Coordinator General, DGEP.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs briefed them on the Department’s latest smart initiatives and future plans, in the presence of Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director for Customer Management Division at DC, Faisal Issa Lutfi, Executive Director of DC World, and Shuaib Al Suwaidi, Director of Customs Intelligence Department.  
 
  The Smart Workspace was one of seven initiatives that PCFC showcased. It’s an innovative platform that transforms traditional services into unique smart user experience which helps companies save AED 68 million annually by reducing the time needed to complete declarations. The artificial intelligence based Jawab service was another highlight. It enables clients of Dubai Customs to communicate through social platforms. Other innovative products include the Smart Watch, the Smart Service Follow-up Board, and others.  

Dubai Maritime City Authority showcased a number of initiatives including the interactive information portal that provides valuable updated information about the weather.
 
On its part, Trakhees- Department of Planning and Development participated with a number of smart projects like the Target 16 which facilitates doing business by enhancing efficiency of services and reducing delivery time. 

Dubai Customs World shared its experience. It disseminates Dubai Customs’ practices to the world for a better world economy. This enables national economies to attract more investments without compromising integrity, security and stability as part of its vision of becoming the biggest reliable customs source in the world.
