Festival Ticket Holders Get Free Draw EntryVisitors to the six-week Summer in Abu Dhabi family centric festival, opening on Thursday 24th June across Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain, have the chance to win two luxury Chevrolet cars. An all new 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan and Chevrolet Traverse Crossover will be on show in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) where visitors can get free entry into draws for the cars by completing a coupon attached to their tickets. “This is an additional summer bonus for the thousands of visitors we expect at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to join in the awesome activities running in Hall 11,” explained Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which is organising the festival. This year’s Summer in Abu Dhabi is its largest edition to date and includes three main international acts running at ADNEC’s Abu Dhabi Hall – the Gulf’s largest indoor entertainment venue. The free car draw offer builds on the festival’s expansive ‘one-for-one’ promotion that gives visitors twice the fun at half the price at more than 30 hotels, restaurants and attractions across the emirate. The festival had its soft launch last night (Wednesday) with the debut performance of legendary Irish dancing theatrical ‘Lord of the Dance, the world’s highest grossing dance show. The brainchild of American-Irish dance sensation Michael Flately, the show has smashed box office records and performed sold-out shows to over 100 million people at theatres, arenas and stadiums in 67 countries. It runs until 26th June at Abu Dhabi Hall. Tickets start from AED295 and can be bought through www.boxofficeme.com, www.timeouttickets.com, www.ticketingboxoffice.com and Virgin Megastores in the UAE. The other two major acts – Fantasy On Ice and New York’s Big Apple Circus – will also run in the Abu Dhabi Hall throughout Summer in Abu Dhabi. Tickets are AED 200 for adults and AED 75 for children under 12-years and can be bought at ADNEC or via www.boxofficeme.com. For every adult ticket bought an additional adult or child’s ticket will be free. Both shows’ tickets allow entry into the Chevrolet draws. ADNEC’s Hall 11 is also a focal point this summer with more than 10 high-profile activities running at the state-of-the-art, air-conditioned venue, including ‘Marvel Heroes: Operation Green’, Laser Zone, Kids Zone, Play Motion, Dance-tricity, Bee Amazed, Junior Driving Schools and a 5-D cinema. Entry is just AED 15 and visitors qualify for the Chevrolet draws. This year, Summer in Abu Dhabi has spilled out from its traditional ADNEC home to six shopping centres - Abu Dhabi Mall, Marina Mall and Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Jimi Mall, Al Ain Mall and Bawadi Mall in Al Ain – and entry is free to all activities. Running at the malls are indigenous cultural performances, multi-dimensional entertainment experiences, ‘live’ cooking classes, competitions and workshops. Shops are backing up the festivities with special offers and promotions. And with the two Chevrolet car draws, taking place on 15th July and the festival’s last day on 4th August, Summer in Abu Dhabi visitors now have more reasons to ‘get out into the great indoors’. Summer in Abu Dhabi, 24th June – 4th August, runs from 4-10pm on Saturday through Wednesday and from 4pm – Midnight on Thursday and Friday.
